Surbhi Shah

Based out of Jaipur, designer Surbhi Shah hails from a creative family of jewellers. It can be said that she gets her innate understanding of design aesthetics and entrepreneurship from her family legacy. Shah began her journey with an aim to design clothing that is customised to each client’s exact form and shape, as well as their budget. She started running a small studio in 2007. Back then, little did she know that within a decade, this small venture would grow to become one of the most renowned Indian and bridal wear designer labels in the country.The brand has participated in various fashion shows, but after showcasing in the Rajasthan Fashion Week, its first flagship store was finally established. Label Surbhi Shah is now available in various multi-designer stores across the country.

Surbhi Shah Signature Designs

Surbhi Shah heavily draws inspiration from her native state of Rajasthan, which is extremely rich in textiles and ancient crafts. The brand’s initial USP was the age-old craft of ‘gota-patti’ work. This embroidery technique uses gold and silver ribbons that are cut and sewn into the fabric in different shapes and patterns. The craft belongs to ancient India and originated in Rajasthan itself. However, now the label has made space for employing more forms of local craftsmanship like Zardosi, Aari Taari, Petal and Pitton work. Each ensemble features unique details and handwork.
